Our take
Electric vehicle charging management systems have seen significant investment in recent years, and AMPECO, a Bulgarian-based EV charging platform has emerged as a strong contender in the industry. The company provided charge management, payments, security and easy scalability, along with customer and partner management solutions to help EV hire companies and retailers manage their vehicles' performance and maintenance.
With significant funding awarded to Ampeco in 2023 from, among others, BMW’s i Ventures scheme, the company has recently opened offices in Paris. It will use its 2023 Series A capital to make a push for a foothold in North America, where it will be need to fight for market share against major players. That being said, the founders of Ampeco have a history of investing in successful EV charging start-ups and are well-placed to contend in the competitive American market.
With significant funding awarded in 2023 and 2024, the company is ready to accelerate its product development and expansion into key markets like Western Europe, the Nordics, the UK, North America, and Southeast Asia. While it will have to fight for market share against major player, the founders have a history of investing in successful EV charging startups, putting the company in the perfect position to competitive on a global scale.
