One of the finest onboarding experiences with proactive communication through the process. I was sent a personalised presentation deck with granular level details of my offer and some of the positive feedback people had written about me following my interviews. The wonderful company handbook really helped me get a feel for the company culture and expedited my settling in process. The new joiner survey was special! They gave me the option to choose my preferred tech (i.e. top-spec laptop, ergonomic chair and keyboard etc.), my dietary preferences (including the free food items I would like stocked in the kitchen/pantry on a daily basis). This was truly a masterclass in onboarding where I truly felt that the company cared and was ecstatic about me joining them!

AccuRx offers some of the best and most thoughtful benefits across the tech startup space. Plenty of thought has been put into employee happiness and wellbeing. A few relevant examples are the 28 holidays in a year (in addition to bank holidays and 1-month unpaid leave), flexibility to work from anywhere in the world for 2 weeks in a year, unlimited use of the full-time mental wellbeing therapists, free lunches that are healthy and eaten together on the company dining table, pet-friendly office, the £500 wellness budget. The best example is probably the companies decision to offer all employees a £15 contribution towards all late-night travel (following an office party or just work).

The leadership team call itself the B-team and call everyone else at the company the A-team. That in itself should tell you a lot about the leadership and culture at accuRx. They genuinely care, are humble and are extremely empathetic about the people at accuRx. Jacob has a powerful vision for the company, which is seriously inspiring and worth dedicating a part of your life to. In addition, there is plenty of transparency across all aspects of the business (including funding and the future of the company), which shows the level of trust they have in each team member.

I feel privileged every day to be improving how healthcare is delivered. We already make a huge impact, and we're just getting started. We regularly hear from users about the difference we make, and it sometimes makes me quite emotional.

Everyone wants to help you out. On the weekend, I'm looking forward to seeing my colleagues on Monday. Feels like one big family. At 50 people, we still seem remarkably free of egos and politics, and I hope we can keep this up!

There's such a buzz in the team. It's been great seeing individual teams build their own culture and identity over the past few months. I'm always amazed by how much progress there is to share at show and tell each week.

We've gone through several iterations of values over the years. They weren't just set once and never looked at again - they form the basis of our hiring, progression, how we build products and the culture we're trying to build.

There's such a variety of challenge with the work here. Since I began we've gone from needing to quickly iterate and reach product market fit to focus on scaling concerns as we've seen up to 5x and 10x increases in the usages of our services.

I love working for accuRx because our product is the default in primary care. It's a position of huge trust and responsibility which has meant we've been able to put tools on doctors hands just as they've needed them. For example in the lead up to the first Coronavirus lockdown we released a feature to enabled doctors to carry out video consultations just as it was needed and which undoubtedly saved lives and reduced the spread of the virus.

It's not just that accurRx's mission is inspiring, it's also that our mission is beautifully simple in its focus. What makes it so powerful to me is how clearly our mission resonates with our users every time I speak to them.

Straight from the off on my first day, I was blown away by the calibre of people working at accuRx. It really does inspire me to perform as well as I can, as often as I can.

Feedback truly is central to everything we do at accuRx. Everyone in the company is actively seeking feedback on everything they do, and this goes a long way in creating the kind of trusting environment where feedback can be given candidly.

AccuRx places a big emphasis on employee wellbeing - we are given a wellness bonus of £500 per year. Also given access to free therapy sessions. Free lunch is provided on a daily basis in the office - there is also very thoughtful adjustments made for those working remotely. Also lots of teambuilding opportunities and integration especially whilst being remote.

Very great environment to work in everyone is very friendly and genuine - feedback is given on a regular basis ( both positive and negative) Leadership are super transparent and there is a real sense of team across the company, no 'team' is more important than the other. Super refreshing to work in a place which isn't governed by cliques or workplace politics!

My manager is so supportive and understanding - it's very easy to have open discussions or make any suggestions for improvements because of the type of environment created from the start. My manager and the rest of the team went through great lengths to make sure I was onboarded and settled in at accuRx.

It does feel good to be able to do something that is really helping people. We are not trying to sell more or trick users like a lot of other jobs, but simply trying to help clinicians and patients in their daily communication.

The company takes really good care of its employee with a lot of nice gestures. It's not everywhere that the CEO would cook himself a chef weekly meal for his team! It's the kind of management that will just send you flower to make you happy for no particular occasion

When you go on a user test session and you have the user thanking us for the job we are doing and they will just explain how much our tools help them in their daily routine. Not only it's easier for them to do their job, but it's also helping patients a lot by avoiding spending time to go the GP or fill in paper forms for basic info

We're working to solve communication within healthcare. We hear from frontline workers every day about how what we're working on is making their lives easier. It's inspiring to hear the difference we are making

We have an incredible team. Everyone is inspired about what we are achieving are more than happy to muck in and lend a helping hand to each other. We all take time every week in Show and Tell to celebrate all progress and developments that week.

We have a Town Hall every Friday, where founders openly and honestly answer any questions that we have that week.

Before and immediately after I joined, it was clear that I was being hired to a role that had lots of room for growth and subsequent progression.

Laurence and Jacob are extremely passionate about the mission. They are strong leaders in that they are not afraid to pivot and commit to the pivot to serve that mission. They also go above and beyond to build a great company where I love going to work every day!

When I joined, I was given a brief of issues that would be good to solve, but it was made clear that this was a continuing conversation to be had, and I am currently exploiting the autonomy to learn and help with things (e.g. data science) outside my day to day responsibility.

As an engineer I have really appreciated the importance given to reviewing each others code to a level that I hadn't encountered in my previous experiences. On top of that, I've been loving we get to work on tasks that go beyond engineering, such as participating in user research, design processes etc.

Before joining I hadn't really grasped just how important our work is - and it's my favourite thing of all - there is no better way to spend your day than to improve people's lives.

As a non-binary trans and neurodivergent person, I generally expect to not be terribly included in a company's culture. Surprisingly at accuRx I am very much made to feel included, valued and supported! We are still really white in general as a team but I know the company cares a lot about improving diversity as much as possible.

My manager is the most supportive manager I've ever had. They are happy to make time for me even when really busy, to help me when I'm struggling with my ADHD, and to arrange additional support when I need it.

It's so amazingly cool to regularly hear from our users that we're making such a big difference to their ability to do their jobs well. I've never had that at any other job, and given that our users are healthcare staff it's incredibly fulfilling work :D

Contrary to other roles I've had, I feel like all my ideas are very much welcomed and considered, and I've had great fun so far working on a large project where I've been given the space to really approach it the way I wanted to, which is great.

You can't get much more meaningful than working in healthcare and our users love our products and find them invaluable for getting their work done. Helping people do their NHS jobs more effectively is very rewarding.

The team aren't afraid to take on new challenges and respond so quickly to change, most evident during COVID where we built our video consultation tool over the weekend. Again most recently, we haven't backed down from the challenge to help with the COVID vaccination delivery programme

No matter what part you play in the team, everyone is committed to providing constructive feedback to others and we are encouraged to do so! Always feels like a very open and collaborative environment where everyone is keen to help each other where possible

Never have to sweat the little things and have generous and flexible support for managing the big things in life (re: leave, sickness, parental leave etc)

We build software that has been part of delivering NHS care to more than 20 million people to date.

Health tech is nowhere near easy, and you will be stretched and supported to rise to the challenge whatever your role.

It's incredible to know that every new feature we ship is used by nearly every GP practice in the country! It is our mission to build software that improves healthcare professionals' lives and creates better health outcomes for patients.

The work we do at accuRx is so relevant to what GPs and other healthcare professionals need at the moment. We've built a video consultation solution, easy to send questionnaires for patients and a system for requesting an appointment online rather than over the phone!

I love that the work we do has a direct and obvious impact to the healthcare that affects us and our families. Our work on video calls has meant healthcare workers can treat patients remotely during the pandemic. Our work on patient messaging has made simple communication to and from patients easier. And because we're in 98% of practices, most GPs and healthcare workers are thankful for our work as it has helped them get through the day!

My colleagues are some of the most intelligent people I know. They were drawn to the problems accuRx are trying to solve because they aren't easy, fixing communication in healthcare will require a lot of smart people working together well - I think we're well placed!

Our mission is to solve healthcare. Tackling problems that effect so many people, and are often mired in antiquated systems can often produce some challenging work, but without a doubt is it rewarding.

The engineering team does a great job balancing speed of execution and quality of work, while still maintaining a culture of working reasonable hours and having fun along the way.

From the very first day at accuRx it's clear that our users love the product and the team, and we regularly have users joining company calls and always being complimentary around our work. Whether it's saving time by sending an SMS instead of a call, or helping GPs access vulnerable patients via video chat, the company mission of making the health system better is always at the forefront of our day-to-day work.

The team is incredibly diverse, especially for a small tech startup, and diversity is a clear priority in the way we hire and build company culture. Whether it's an afternoon talk around the experience of trans people and healthcare, or hosting programming classes for women, the company's commitment to fostering an inclusive environment shines through, and we are always pushing to make sure there is as much diversity of thought as possible - a recent example being hiring 2 software engineering apprentices.

We value a range of opinions on each topic and although we don't seek consensus on every decision, everyone is entitled to speak their mind without fear of reprisal.

I've worked in other places where this has been talked about from a leadership team, but not ever actually seen in practice... that's quite the opposite at accuRx. Being open and honest and having a culture of giving and receiving feedback means that we're constantly striving for improvement and we're able to help each other grow and learn. Every week we can anonymously post questions to our CEO & CTO, but most people choose to do this in the session together as there are no 'out of bounds' topics.
