Acre aims to increase the efficiency of the UK’s £1.4 trillion mortgage market by providing an end-to-end management system for mortgages advisors, reducing the unnecessary admin and friction when buying a home.
Traditionally, clients pay flat fees for mortgage software, which is usually associated with hidden costs, a lack of flexibility, and long-term contracts. Acre charges clients only for complete applications, and is only paid when clients are paid. Clients are free to leave if they are not satisfied with the software, adding to the appeal for smaller customers.
Moreover, the SaaS product provided by the startup covers the entire process, from estimating what the home buyers can borrow, to insuring the new home. In 2026, Acre was acquired by financial marketplace ClearScore Group, where it will expand its new owners' mortgage capabilities. This marks an exciting new chapter and will see Acre continue to operate under its name. Clearscore plans to expand Acre's operations to pre-existing customer bases in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
