AlphaSights

I've been at AlphaSights for almost 6 months now, and I've already worked on a wide range or projects and initiatives. As an associate, you are afforded a great deal of autonomy and responsibility really early on. This is something I greatly value as I'm able to take ownership of my tasks and drive results.

The people at AlphaSights make the organisation. It is genuinely a pleasure to work alongside them everyday. Not only are they some of the most hardworking people I know, but everyone is super smart, solution orientated, and curious. When there is an obstacle, the team all come together to find an innovative solution.

Everyday I learn something new. No two days look the same in Client Protection. The work is varied and often complex. It really prompts you to think critically and problem solve. I've learnt so many new skills in such a short time, and achieved things I never thought I would be able to. I have dedicated support from my manager, trainer, and the Professional Development team to identify areas for continued growth and learning.

There are many reasons AlphaSights gives many opportunities to learn. Firstly, AlphaSights offers 1 day per sprint for personal development, which engineers use to further enhance their knowledge and skills. Secondly, there are quarterly 2-day hackathons for people to form groups and solve a particular problem in their interest. This allows to work with other people, and tackle new challenges. Third but not last, it offers a very solid learning budget to each employee to assist to conferences and access any material they want. And last but not least important, engineers can join "Guilds" which are focus groups on a particular subject, to meet once a week and discuss related topics.

AlphaSights has 2 instances per year in which employees can be chosen for elevation, as early as with 1 year experience the person can get a promotion. Also, in terms of career path, given the incredible year-to-year growth of the company, there are many opportunities to grow in the direction the person wants to take their career.

AlphaSights is in a very niche market, connecting people to the knowledge they need. It englobes many different actors, different systems, taking into account many different points of view. The complexity of the product derives in challenging engineering work. Also it goes together with being a very special place to work because of the incredibly nice, high-energy, driven and motivated people I get to work with, and the amazing structure it has in place to move projects and the roadmap forward. Product and Engineering truly work together in an excellent way, allowing engineers to achieve results and progress in their careers really quickly.

At AlphaSights, I've been able to drive my own progression and project ownership in line with those skills/competencies I feel motivated executing, but also in areas where I'd like more exposure in order to become more well rounded. AlphaSights has a huge emphasis on continual learning, not only at the role-level, but also with more generic professional skills as well as hearing from cultural perspectives and hosting discussions on social issues and economic empowerment.

AlphaSights have been incredibly transparent with my career progression since the day I joined, which I've found highly motivating. Leadership make constant and genuine efforts to communicate any changes and improvements to employees in a fair and approachable manner.

After my immediate onboarding, I was given a large degree of autonomy. After seeming initially daunting, I now relish the freedom and flexibility that being in charge of my own project flow and daily structure gives me. I always know that my manager is available should I need another set of eyes.

The people are AlphaSights are great, which has lead to a strong company culture. It is great being able to rely on your colleagues to solve client pain points together but also to have a wide network of individuals, who are really diverse and fun.

AlphaSights grows incredibly fast, which means responsibility and autonomy is given early on. The growth we are driving is making us one of the largest and yet fastest growing companies in the industry. I love how much you are able to shape your own environment at the company.

At AlphaSights, no day is the same. This is both due to the fast-paced client requests but also because even within the Associate and Manager role you get the opportunity to learn incredibly quickly - both in terms of soft and hard skills. It's really about pushing yourself out of your comfort zone!

Every day in my role is different. We work in a fast-paced environment and I face a variety of compliance risks and challenges allowing me to utilise my analytical and problem solving skills.

AlphaSights's fast growth ensures that we can step up and take on more responsibilities as we progress. There are always projects we can get involved in and high-performance is recognized.

AlphaSights continues to launch new products and technology, growing its client base and providing employees with new exciting opportunities.

At AlphaSights, I know exactly when my next promotion opportunity is and exactly what I need to do to get there. My career plan was laid out clearly to me on day 1 and has actually been adapted and improved specifically to meet my needs since then. I have been able to develop really quickly and set myself clear and achievable goals to keep myself on track for future promotions.

I work with some incredibly intelligent and driven people at AlphaSights. My direct team are a constant source of motivation to push myself. The range of experiences and the willingness to share best practices means I am constantly learning from the people around me. Whenever any challenges arise, I can look to my team and can walk away with creative solutions to any issue.

Professional development has been a huge part of my experience at AlphaSights. In my first 3 weeks, I received a mix of theoretical and practical opportunities to learn the ins and outs of my role. Since then, I have taken up the many opportunities to upskill through internal training sessions, shadowing opportunities and through LinkedIn Learning. I also have exposure to some of our Senior Leadership team that have mentored me and encouraged me to keep pushing.

Since joining AlphaSights, there has been a very clear path for career progression. With regular professional development meetings, I am always aware of how I'm currently doing and what I need to work on, to stay on track for my career progression.

The people at AlphaSights are undoubtedly the best part of the company! Everyone is very welcoming and supportive, from day 1 I felt like a member of the team. It's been very easy to make genuine friendships at work!

Since joining AlphaSights, I have been provided with plenty of autonomy and responsibility over my work. My manager and team both trust in my ability and value my opinion, but have always been there for any support I may need!

From my first day of joining AlphaSights the career progression was explained to me, including the steps on how to reach each stage. I continually have conversations with my manager to understand more about how I can get to the next step in my career, and it is all based on merit.

AlphaSights has two co-founders that still own almost the entire business who have both built & successfully sold their own companies before starting AS. When they founded AS, one of their key objectives was creating a company that's a career accelerator. I've found this to ring true 13+ years since its. There's clear career progression and plenty of ability to transfer internally / globally if you're looking to build new skills.

Our product team operates with clear ownership & autonomy over the areas we work in. The business trusts us to put our users' needs first and understand that's best for the business as a whole. Each PM acts like the CEO of their respective area with alignment to our overall business strategic direction.

The people are the best part about AlphaSights. That's not a marketing answer - you can ask anyone that works here. I've worked across several functions and offices and found this to ring true across the board. My colleagues are young, driven, ambitious people that push me forward on a daily basis and are also some of my best friends.

It's very easy to get your opinion across at AlphaSights. You have frequent 1x1s with your manager, sprint reviews and an open communication channel with higher engineering management, in which your feedback and opinions will be heard and valued.
