Our take
Apify delivers a platform for developers to build, deploy and publish web scraping, data extraction and web automation tools. Such tools have typically come with a number of challenges, caused by, for example, headless browsers or sophisticated blocking, which is what the company hopes to tackle.
Apify's suite of products is headed by Crawlee, a library for building reliable scrapers in Node.js, with the company also providing scraping templates, specialized cloud storage and serverless cloud "Actors" able to do computing jobs. By collecting all these functions under one platform, Apify is an attractive option in the market, and has snagged business from the likes of Accenture, Siemens and Microsoft.
The platform's ability to serve such enterprises shows the quality of its offering, and makes it no surprise that it has secured funding. Apify plans to invest this funding in marketing, further product development and nurturing the growth of its developer community.
