Our take
Earning passive income through property rental has historically been the preserve of homeowners and commercial or private landlords. Arrived is looking to shake up the paradigm, by allowing people to purchase fractional shares in rental properties - without the headaches of property management and administration.
It’s a novel way of addressing the wealth creation problem facing predominantly younger generations. The majority of these groups lack the money, time, and resources to build out a property portfolio, meaning they miss out on the substantial passive income this can generate. As we’ve seen with the burgeoning interest in crypto and retail investment, however, there’s a keen appetite for fractionalized investment as an alternative strategy.
Arrive's growth points to strong demand for more accessible real estate investing. With a large user base, hundreds of millions invested, and new features like its secondary market improving liquidity, the platform is making property investment feel more like trading stocks. While concerns around housing impact remain, Arrived is in a good position to expand further, with new products and a clear focus on scaling digital, retail-friendly real estate investing.
