To empower scientists by making automation a reality for every lab.
Automation is transforming just about every aspect of society and sector of the economy. Both repetitive software-based jobs and creative industries are leaning heavily on automated systems to cut costs and increase efficiency. Consequently, the industrial robotics industry is growing quickly.
Founded in 2015 by architects Mostafa ElSayed and Suryansh Chandra, Automata is setting out to help the life sciences industry automate repetitive physical work, freeing humans to do more fulfilling jobs. Besides Eva, its six axis robotic arm, the company developed its own software system, called Choreograph, which allows companies to configure all the sequences they need their robotic arm to complete.
Automata has now raised the funds to execute its vision of attempting to automate entire lab processes from start to finish. The company’s most visible success is an NHS testing facility that has been as optimised for robotic automation, and which has now processed over a million samples. Its recent expansion to the lucrative US life sciences market puts it in an excellent position to continue its growth.
