Company mission

Canopy's mission is to help build and launch better debit, credit, and lending products, to make financial products should more personal, transparent, and safe.

Our take

Canopy was founded on the belief that while most fintech startups focus on things like financial transfers, checking and savings accounts, they also wish to break into the much more lucrative credit and lending markets.

However, they face too many barriers when it comes to loan servicing. To answer this problem, the company offers an API-driven loan servicing platform which allows them to build, launch, and manage loans.

There’s been an explosion in the API-first startup landscape of late, largely driven by how they vastly reduce product launch times. Indeed, plenty in the industry – including Canopy CEO Matt Bivons – believe that soon they will overtake end-to-end tech stacks.

It’s too early to say if they’re right or wrong, but the fact that Canopy is offering an in-demand product in a huge credit and lending market bodes well.
