To help tour and activity operators making the most of their business by reducing the amount of commission they give away while making their life easier.
Our take
Founded by a tour operator and serial entrepreneur, CaptainBook was launched to rocket boost and streamline the laborious tasks that travel and tourism bookers must engage with to gain customers. CaptainBook’s no-code booking engine connects experience providers to local resellers like rental accommodations, hotels, and travel agencies, expanding the customer net of both parties in the process.
CaptainBook is tackling the problem that on average, 64% of experience bookings are completed when the customer has reached their destination, rather than before they take their trip. With tourism levels still rising globally, experience and activity businesses continue to lose out off-season. With CaptainBook’s booking engine, adventure and experience businesses can still keep afloat during off-peak times if they can capitalise on advanced bookings, a business infrastructure that is still surprisingly lacking in many tourism hot spots.
After successful seed funding rounds in 2022 and 2023, CaptainBook is still young but could help underserved sectors in the tourism industry keep up with the competition.
