To provide the fastest access to equitable, high quality virtual care for people who feel underserved by traditional health care.

CirrusMD was created in 2012 after co-founder Blake McKinney realised that he could answer many of any of his friends and family's medical questions over text. Hence, the company offers a text-first care service connecting users with board-certified physicians in under a minute.
CirrusMD provides its service as a benefit to health plans, brokers, and employers, and are riding a wave of increased demand for telemedical services. CirrusMD rivals like K-Health and 98point6 also offer text-first care services, and both are impressively funded, suggesting that the concept is expected to see real uptake.
It will be interesting to see the efficacy of text-first services as CirrusMD’s role in the sector develops. Research suggests the accessible, discreet, and compelling nature of text communication has measurably beneficial effects on healthcare management. With CirrusMD utilization rates higher than the industry average, it appears to be cutting a strong path in a growing market.
