We're redefining the workflow automation category, and we believe the next evolution will empower anyone to build automations and improve with more usage. We're just getting started. If you want to build the future, make an impact, and do your best work, we would love to hear from you.
Workflow automation has long been dominated by visual tools like Zapier, Make, and n8n. While these platforms opened automation to non-developers, they still require users to map out logic visually. Codewords is betting on a different approach: building automations through conversation rather than canvas.
Founded by former Microsoft Research and TikTok team members, Codewords (built by Agemo) secured £3.2M in seed funding from Fly Ventures and Firstminute Capital. Users describe what they want in normal language, and the system handles design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Early adopters from investment firms and consultancies have created hundreds of custom tools this way.
As they grow, Codewords must convince users accustomed to visual workflows that conversation offers a genuinely better way to build. With Zapier and Make holding significant market share, they're wagering that chat-native automation will feel more natural than node-based builders.
