Our take

Discovery delivers over 8,000 hours of original programming each year and has category leadership across deeply loved content genres around the world. Available in 220 countries and territories and nearly 50 languages, Discovery is a platform innovator, reaching viewers on all screens. It owns and operates television networks under many brand names, including Discovery, Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery, Science, Velocity, Discovery Family, the Oprah Winfrey Network, Eurosport, and Discovery Kids.

The company’s content genres include survival, exploration, sports, lifestyle, general entertainment, heroes, adventure, crime and investigation, health, and kids. It's diversified and distributes content across various platforms such as brand-aligned websites, web-native networks, online streaming, mobile devices, video on demand, broadband channels and radio stations.

To fit in the fast evolving TV and streaming world, the company has also recently launched its own streaming service Discovery+, which is increasingly taking up a larger part of the business. The global video streaming market is set to grow by 21% year on year from 2021 to 2028, making it the primary way to reach new audiences over the next decade.
