Our take
Earlybird is a venture capital firm with over 20 years of experience in the space. It backs early-stage European technology companies, providing financial support and strategic advice throughout their subsequent growth and development.
As with many VCs nowadays, the firm has stated its commitment to not only pursue financial returns but also contribute to positive change in society and help fight the climate crisis. Its portfolio spans a great number of industries from Real Estate to Quantum Computing, and includes over 150 companies.
Recently, it closed its largest funding round yet, raising €360M for Fund VIII to focus on AI applications, software infrastructure, foundation models, and DeepTech. Alongside this, the firm has also introduced a new long-term ownership structure and developed its own internal AI platform, EagleEye, to help identify and support promising founders, showing just how ambitious it is to remain at the forefront of Europe's evolving VC landscape.
