Our take

Elderly care has traditionally been delivered in residential care homes, which require people to be taken out of their own homes and moved into an unusual environment. Elder is introducing a technology-driven solution to a previously undisturbed market. It believes that getting older shouldn’t mean giving up choice and independence – even when you need care.

Social care remains one of society’s biggest challenges around the world and the big companies involved are nearly all legacy providers, leaving significant scope for disruption.

Elder is setting out to provide a personalised and genuine approach to senior care that can also scale. Elder is able to dispatch a carer, matched based on individual needs and personality, to any location in the UK within 48 hours. It is now focused on improving its live-in care experience and expanding across the UK.
