Ephemeral Tattoo's mission is to create a world where every body is a canvas for limitless self-expression, by providing a temporary tattoo solution with ink that is designed to fade.
Tattoos are widely popular forms of body art within a highly lucrative industry, but many people are apprehensive about getting one. Whilst some people may be interested in expressing themselves through meaningful body tattoos, the fact that they are permanent leads to most people never following through with it.
Ephemeral Tattoo operates tattoo studios that utilize ink that is designed to fade away within 15 months, removing the commitment that customers must usually face when getting a tattoo. In addition to hosting in-house tattoo ideas, the company also takes bespoke requests from customers within their studios in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
Whilst many people would argue that the company misses the crucial tattoo element of commitment, Ephemeral Tattoo has been smart to recognize the gap in the market of tattoo enthusiasts who do not wish to have permanent tattoos. Furthermore, many people who are apprehensive about a tattoo design may use the fade-away tattoos as a test run, presenting further business that would not exist otherwise.

The transparency at Ephemeral is unparalleled. From the CEO all the way down, everyone is encouraged to openly share information about what they're working on and why. This allows us all to be bought in to the mission and understand the impact of our work, as well has having input on other parts of the company's operations.

We have such an incredibly inclusive environment that truly encourages people from diverse backgrounds to join the team and deliver all they have to offer. The CEO has done a great job of including everyone's voices- even those of our retail staff- in discussions around how the brand comments on current events such as the overturning of Roe V. Wade and other socio-political events.

Truly one of the greatest inventions of this century. Never in my life did I imagine a real tattoo would be anything other than permanent. It is so exciting to watch the product develop and grow. Where else can I work on a product that is this innovative and unique?

I joined Ephemeral because of the mission. There's no one doing what we do and creating what we're creating. I love that we're breaking norms and challenging an age-old industry. I am excited about this company's growth!

The onboarding at Ephemeral was focused on meeting the overall team and deep diving into the company's values and mission. There were many opportunities to speak to founders and decision makers throughout my first week. By the end of week 1, I knew what the objectives and focuses were for Ephemeral as well as who were the key stakeholders I would be working with.

I've never worked with a team or company where leadership is very open to talk about current state of the company whether is finances, future goals and objectives. It's also nice to know that leadership is always in tune with current events and is always willing to have a dialouge at large on what they can do better to improve diversity and inclusion.

One thing I love about Ephemeral is how diverse the team is. With "Tattoo for all" being one of the core missions, it's important for Ephemeral to prioritize diversity in everything we do. When there's a mix in different perspectives, there's better decision making and better insights on how the world works.
