ExpressVPN's mission is to make the internet more open, free, and accessible for all.
The global virtual private network (VPN) market was valued at over $25 billion in 2019, and is expected to reach upwards of $75 billion by 2027. ExpressVPN is one of the world’s largest providers of VPN services, which are used to hide internet participants' online activity.
ExpressVPN has over 3,000 servers across almost a hundred countries, so its re-routing of a user's internet connection has a minimal influence on their connection speed. The VPN is also widely used because it allows users to access content that isn’t available in their region by unblocking leading streaming sites.
ExpressVPN's main target audience is individuals using the product for personal use, as the VPN has limited functionality for businesses. Kape Technologies, a security and privacy firm, acquired ExpressVPN in 2021 to create a premium consumer privacy and security player in the industry, and there is no reason to think the company won't continue its success.
