Findmypast, owned by publishing giant DC Thomson, is an online genealogy service dedicated to digitising the world’s archives and helping people discover and share their family stories.

Findmypast features billions of historical records, as well as millions of registered users across its family of brands: Findmypast, Genes Reunited, the British Newspaper Archive and Twile.

The company offers two ways to buy access to its records: through PayAsYouGo credits, or through a billed subscription plan. Continuous innovation in technology and increasing interest towards genealogy are driving the market, which is worth ~$12bn a year. Among its competitors within the industry, Findmypast stands out as the world’s most comprehensive online collection of British and Irish records.
