Our take
First Choice has been a well-known travel agency and tour operator in the UK since its founding in 1973. In 2007, it merged with TUI and became a leading UK travel company, having provided holiday packages to over 6 million travellers.
Along with the rest of the tourism sector, First Choice has had to contend with serious economic headwinds. However it is playing close attention to customer sentiment as evidenced by its launching of its "Green & Fair Hotels" initiative which labels sustainable hotels in its network as having met stringent environmental criteria. As international travel picks up again, and with access to its parent company TUI's vast network, First Choice is in a strong position to retain its lead in the UK market.
First Choice has recently changed its leadership, tapping Bart Quinton-Smith as Managing Director. As business improves it is looking to renew the brand, bringing on new talent at all levels to make this a reality.

Leadership
Bart Quinton Smith
(Managing Director, not founder)Previously worked as Industry Manager - Travel for Google. Prior to this they worked at TUI Group in several managerial and analyst roles. They returned to TUI in 2018, becoming Managing Director of First Choice in 2022.
