Our take
Owning a pet can be fun, and in no time they become a treasured member of the family, providing us with companionship, friendship and loyalty. Launched in 2016, FirstVet was founded with the mission of making pet care more accessible for everyone. FirstVet is an independent digital veterinary service that provides pet owners with video consultations.
FirstVet sets itself apart through its service being staffed by experienced UK-registered veterinarians. During the video consultations, the veterinarians provide advice & treatment, or refer the pet to a physical veterinary clinic. FirstVet works with all the veterinary practices & animal hospitals and pet owners can benefit from its service for free if they have insurance from one of FirstVet's partners.
Since its launch, the company has grown exponentially and is now active in most countries across the EU. Many UK pet insurance companies offer FirstVet veterinary consultations with their policies to 19, including Co-op, Costco, PETtrac, ManyPets and CoverMyPet and most recently Petwise.
