Our take
Many startups are working on solutions for trucking fleet networks to operate with more efficiency, but these are largely focused on logistics over the shipments themselves. An individual truck must be assigned to every single shipment regardless of its size, an inefficiency that results in a large carbon footprint, damage to items, and late deliveries.
Flock Freight provides a trucking shipment management system that allows for a pooling service of multiple shipments to be distributed within a shared truck. This reduces the number of trucks required for a batch of shipments whilst also ensuring that operating trucks are filled to their maximum capacity.
Whilst the majority of innovation in the trucking industry revolves around optimizing logistics to facilitate sustainability within growing fleet sizes, Flock Freight instead focuses on reducing the need for such systems in the first place. Ultimately, this fresh perspective is providing a means for the shipping industry to tackle great inefficiencies in the costs and emissions of their trucking fleets.
