Our take
Online piracy is a gargantuan problem in industries from film to music to software. In fact, chances are if a company sells unique content, it is available illegally elsewhere. Friends MTS offers an award-winning suite of anti-piracy technologies to protect live broadcast channels and events, as well as on-demand video entertainment, from illegal redistribution, protecting the intellectual property of its clients.
Piracy brings a host of problems, from lost revenue to low customer experience and negative impacts to brand image, but it has historically proved difficult to battle. By employing advanced network forensics and fingerprint-based automatic content recognition, Friend MTS can monitor globally for redistributed content, finding and providing intelligence on illicit video consumption. A handful of other companies provide advanced piracy solutions, but the scale of the problem means there is no shortage of room for growth alongside these competitors.
Friend MTS protects the content of many of the world’s largest media and entertainment companies, and is employed by sports giants such as UEFA. The company has received sizeable funds that will go towards expanding its portfolio of video content security solutions, accelerating growth in core markets, and moving into additional markets and industries.
