GDevelop is a game engine that lets you develop a video game without any specific development experience. Their no-code game engine is easy to learn and they currently have an audience ranging from young children to hobbyists, indie game studios or even big brands. GDevelop focuses specifically on 2D games, as it’s more accessible for both players and developers.
So far their games have been published on the app stores, Steam and various other webstores. Some games created on their platform have even reached reached 1M+ downloads accross iOS and Android.
GDevelop is yet to monetize their offering, instead, the company is thinking about services that could be useful for GDevelop users. For instance, GDevelop could offer a one-click export solution to release a game and monetize it. As long as GDevelop remains popular, there will always be different ways to create revenue streams to support future development, indicating a promising future ahead.
