Our take

Genio, formerly Glean, is the note-taking solution designed to improve learning from classes, lectures, and other environments.

Genio's vision has been born out of a decade of experience working with students and educators whilst developing the company’s original product, Sonocent Audio Notetaker. The challenges students with disabilities face while studying are universal and stem from how we expect students to learn from class content. After 10 years of developing assistive technology, Glean is turning its attention to creating a fully accessible solution that can be used by students of all abilities in the classroom.

Digital transformation in the education sector has been accelerated in the last few years, as traditional classroom solutions weren't quite adaptable to the challenges of learning in the online/offline hybrid environment. Genio's full-service note-taking package is designed to support student success and help higher education institutions solve one of the biggest accommodations challenges.

The technology sees a move to proactive support for a diverse range of students by equipping them with a note taking solution that offers compliance without complication, helping institutions streamline administration while avoiding costly lawsuits.
