Our take
The competition for top talent is fierce, and HR teams in even the smallest companies are under more pressure than ever to find, attract and retain the best possible employees. Key to this is the employee experience, underpinned by the HR systems that cover recruiting, onboarding, payroll and employee feedback, among other things. However, HR teams in smaller enterprises often struggle with an assortment of tools covering each function along with outmoded spreadsheets, leading to a disjointed and often unpleasant experience that can frustrate employees and see them looking elsewhere.
GoCo exists to fix this, providing a unified suite of HR tools which covers all aspects of human resource management in a single platform. Its products automate the processes around hiring, payroll, employee benefits and performance management, reducing the need for spreadsheets or manual paperwork. Focused squarely on the SMB market, the flexibility of its software and dedicated customer service for each of its clients helps it stand out in an otherwise crowded field which includes enterprise players such as BambooHR and Workday.
The company recently closed a Series B round, raising a significant amount of funding. This is being used to expand GoCo's suite of products and to scale its operations. Its acquisition of WFHomie, an employee experience and analytics platform, will help to round out its product offering especially for remote-first companies, a growing category of SMBs. Going forward, GoCo is in an excellent position to grow while helping smaller companies compete for talent and support their people.
