Company mission

Groove's mission is to build the ultimate human-powered support system for professional lives, by harnessing the power of connection and accountability to transform the workday.

Our take

Building a reliable, and hopefully scalable, business is the obvious major challenge for freelancers, solopreneurs and their ilk. However, one of the more overlooked factors holding them back is old fashioned accountability. Distraction and procrastination are almost inevitable when setting your own schedule and goals/

Groove is out to tackle this with its free app which essentially allows solo workers to tap into accountability – and of course, support and encouragement – on demand. It’s a remarkably simple concept: Log in, roundtable with a small group to share goals, work for fifty minutes on your own, then have a quick debrief to congratulate each other on a job well done.

Around 70 million people participate in freelance work in the US alone at the moment. Indeed, that figure climbed by more than 20% between 2021 and 2022, with freelancers now making up nearly 40% of the entire national workforce. With this in mind, Groove couldn’t be emerging at a more opportune time.
