Our take
In recent years, there has been an emphasis on maintaining both physical and mental well-being. However, for many, engaging in regular exercise and staying active can often feel overwhelming. The high costs associated with personal trainers and the fact gyms may not cater to everyone's preferences contribute to this challenge. And whilst working out from the comfort of one's own home has emerged as a viable alternative, even this option can seem daunting at times.
Hero is a movement specialist that wants to change the way people approach fitness. It develops digital products that enable individuals to progress in their active journey and turns mobile phones into personalised, on-demand trainers. Utilising real-time motion tracking and delivering tailored feedback, Hero offers users invaluable guidance and support typically provided by a human trainer.
Hero has recently been granted funding by UKRI Healthy Ageing Challenge, and with this capital, the company is going to play a key role in developing at-home rehabilitation tools specifically designed for individuals aged 50 and above. In addition to this initiative, Hero is gearing up to launch its first product, a personalised training app, in the middle of 2023.
