Our take

For anyone who has a dream of building their own home, there is a lot to think about and do in order to make it a reality. Not only do you have to find a qualified builder, there's other aspects that require organizing, such as architecture, engineering and permitting. More homeowners are looking for a custom build and therefore want to be part of the process.

Homebound makes all this possible by bringing technology to what is a traditional industry. It is a digital platform that acts as a virtual contractor, helping to manage the project from the design phase through to completion. It connects residents with vetted contractors and provides tools to track and manage an array of tasks associated with the build.

After building through the wildfire cases in California, Homebound expanded into areas of housing shortage such as Austin and hurricane disaster zones, where they were met with incredible success. This has spurred their expansion into several other states and has been vindicated by another significant funding round which they plan to use to fuel their growth and double down on their technology.
