InfluxData's mission is helping its customers build cool stuff that transforms their business in less time.
-30% employee growth in 12 months
Companies around the world are using data to make informed decisions about their business. However, many data-led questions such as performance management of IoT devices require chronologically processed information. InfluxData created the open-source InfluxDB database to tackle this problem.
The time-series database is simple to deploy and high performance, with the ability to perform millions of data operations per second, crucially on precisely time-stamped data. Thousands of developers make use of InfluxDB globally, but the brand believes its market can continue to grow. This will be partly achieved by educational outreach, supported by the 2022 launch of InfluxDB University.
Perhaps the greatest challenge to InfluxData is the mixed competition it faces. Some venture-backed startups like Timescale threaten the company on a features and performance level, while traditional SQL approaches have much wider adoption. Despite this, the company has captured much success and raised impressive funding, that is cited to fuel the development and rollout of its database engine that is built on the open source project, InfluxDB IOx.
