To empower healthcare professionals to work better, together.
An ageing, overworked, and shrinking nursing workforce, along with growing demand for healthcare services (and an increase in the acuity of this demand) has led to a concerning shortfall of healthcare staff in the US. IntelyCare’s remarkable growth over recent years suggests the company has found a promising solution: an online marketplace of well-paid, quick-to-fill per diem nursing shifts.
The idea is that nurses can operate as "gig workers" - crafting a personalized well-remunerated work schedule that fits around other commitments and needs, and healthcare institutions can more easily source adequate staffing. It’s a good model in theory, but in practice, it requires strong participation. With popular competitors like Unicorn company Clipboard Health and startups like ShiftMed, splitting off a market share could prove challenging.
Nevertheless, the last few years have been strong for IntelyCare. The company has seen 850% revenue growth since 2020, the number of nurses on the platform has more than doubled, demand from institutions tripled, and IntelyCare itself hit Unicorn status. So participation levels are substantial, and growing - and with the nursing crisis predicted to continue through 2030, IntelyCare is making good strides in a durable product.
