Our take

Gastrointestinal (GI) diseases are complex and generally require endoscopies to diagnose, but limitations in gastroenterology diagnosis leave many cases untreated. Whilst AI is leveraged by some medical companies to provide precision medicine for otherwise untreatable conditions, these are designed for specific purposes, and there is yet to be a bespoke solution for GI diseases.

Iterative Health - formerly known as Iterative Scopes, develops AI-driven precision medicine technology for gastroenterologists, applying computer vision to the endoscopy process to help physicians document, diagnose, and learn from novel GI cases.

Whilst AI-driven computer vision is steadily growing within the medical industry, Iterative Health has identified the gap in the market that GI diseases present, specifically applying the technology to endoscopies. Through this approach, the company hopes to help find treatments for otherwise untreatable GI cases and empower physicians and researchers to understand gastroenterology better.
