As a well-established name in the industry, Ivanti has grown and changed since their initial founding as LAN Systems in 1985. From 2017, LANDESK, the successor to LAN systems merged with HEAT Software to become Ivanti. Since then, Ivanti have brought other smaller companies under its name.
Marketing itself as a service for IT and asset management solutions, Ivanti’s flagship product, the Ivanti Neurons IT Platform, uses machine learning to pre-emptively detect and solve IT issues automatically. Ivanti also offers a suite of cyber security software, from VPNs to real-time cyber security surveillance.
Concerns were raised for products of Ivanti’s subsidiary companies MobileIron and Pulse Secure, as a flaw with the VPN’s systems allowed hackers to exploit and gain control of the networks using them. With hacking being a common and serious concern for all data-based companies, Ivanti are not alone with this data breach and in 2023 has taken steps to remedy its previous hacks through zero trust and Unified Endpoint Management tools.
