Jove’s mission is to build a dynamic insurance portal for the new generation of self-employed people where protection, benefit, community support, learning and inspiration thrive.
33% female employees
There is a general lack of protection for the self-employed. There is unstable income, a lack of sick pay and a lack of professional/public liability. Jove is setting out to tackle this problem by building a dynamic insurance portal for the new generation of self-employed people such as drivers, freelancers and consultants.
It is building a bundle of “fit for purpose” insurance products. It will offer everything from liability to motor to health coverage on a project-by-project basis, embedded automatically into courier apps or partner talent marketplaces like a SaaS product.
Jove sets itself apart from competitors such as Tapoly, Dinghy and Collective by providing flexible insurance which fits different lifestyles, rather than a "one size fits all" approach, which can lead to a struggle to meet the needs of self-employed individuals.
In the UK, there is a £100 million opportunity for Jove, with independent workers making up 20-30% of the working-age population. This is only set to rise as the freelance economy continues to surge. With a growing market and a flexible approach, Jove has great potential to build a significant business that impacts lots of people.
