Our take
Computer vision technology is becoming increasingly sought after in the security, surveillance, and retail space, but the demandingrequirements of most automated surveillance technology means specialized cameras need to be installed. Kibsi sets itself apart in this competitive market by developing solutions that can be integrated into businesses' existing cameras, meaning that no hardware has to be replaced.
Kibsi's product has proven popular in the security and retails sectors, and interestingly is also finding strong uptake in the wildlife analysis sector where the flexibility of being able to run either Kibsi's computer vision models or their own is especially useful. The low-code aspect of Kibsi’s products is also an attractive proposition for customers, using a drag and drop interface which is accessible to non-specialists and reducing the need to hire engineers to manage the computer vision systems.
Essentially, Kibsi wants to democratize computer vision for use by all, and its unique approach to the industry has helped it attract significant funding, most recently in a 2023 seed round. The capital will go towards product development and scaling its operations. As the use cases for computer vision continues to grow across numerous industries, Kibsi is well poised to develop a significant business in this space.
