AI technology has made rapid advances in recent years, with innovations in large language models like ChatGPT promising to revolutionise the way we work in previously unimaginable ways. However, ChatGPT is still limited and reactive, responding only to direct prompts from users. Knowd, an early-stage Toronto startup, wants to build a proactive AI solution - one that knows what you need, before you ask for it.
Knowd aims to provide a transparent knowledge management system where knowledge flows are visible. This allows projects to syncronise with up-to-date organisational information and replaces the current "black box" model of input going into an external AI which produces output based on opaque sources. It is able to integrate with hundreds of data sources, allowing companies to manage and utilise all the data they hold easily and replacing data siloes with a single source of truth.
Knowd is currently in early access as it builds its founding team which already consists of startup veterans with a track record of successful exits and generating millions in revenue. Having raised an initial round it is moving swiftly to build what its founders term the "Github for enterprise knowledge". While it is still early days for this company it will be exciting to see the splash its product makes on the knowledge work landscape.
