LYTT’s mission is to transform decision making by turning sensor data into contextual and continuous insights.
26% employee growth in 12 months
LYTT is a spinout that’s bringing to market technology developed by BP to identify sand interference in offshore wells. It’s been described as a Shazam for sand, using fibre optic sensors to detect and illustrate well conditions. The product has since been expanded to offer engineering teams a deeper real-time understanding of multiple aspects of production.
The product has already been successfully deployed to optimise oil production and, potentially, revive abandoned oil wells. In 2023 the company launched an AI sensor platform, designed to generate smarter insights, accelerate operational value, and monetize sensor data. It goes without saying that this is a lucrative market in which to be offering tangible business improvements.
LYTT technology is part of a broader industry-wide push to digitally transform energy production. It’s a win/win: not only do companies improve their yield, they can also answer increasingly urgent calls to reduce the environmental impact of their business. This double-pronged and increasingly important appeal has already led LYTT to partnerships with the likes of Baker Hughes and Weatherford. This astute leveraging of the company’s product quality and BP pedigree, as well as a forward-looking strategy for cementing LYTT’s role in the future of the lucrative industry, means LYTT looks set for a strong future.
