Our take

Peer-to-peer lending has become a huge market. Starting with loans for consumers and businesses, LendInvest was one of the first companies to bring peer-to-peer lending to the property market.

Returns from traditional saving accounts have been cut significantly in the last decade due to record-low interest rates, so retail investors are chasing higher returns from alternative investments. LendInvest matches the supply of retail investors with the demand for loans for buy-to-let properties.

The past few years has seen the demand for remortgaging properties soar in the buy-to-let market as investors are looking for ways to secure their profitability and find stability, as reflected in the over $2B worth of funding LendInvest has received. Most recent funding will be invested into its new home owner mortgage product.
