Our take
The continuing roll out of 5G has placed pressures on communications providers, who need to find ways to take advantage of the network's capabilities to get a return on their investment. However, most providers are using legacy systems, and an estimated 98% of operators don't realise that these systems will need to be heavily modified to work for 5G use cases. MATRIXX Software exists to help these communications companies adapt with a monetization platform for the 5G era, allowing companies to develop a range of services and charge their customers for them in a single bill.
MATRIXX is unique in that it is the only commerce platform built specifically for 5G communications networks. This is important because telecommunications companies have invested heavily in 5G infrastructure but older convergent charging systems such as those provided by Oracle and Nokia are not agile enough to keep up with the multiple ways companies should be able to monetise these networks, including in cloud networks and edge applications. MATRIXX's ability to manage and charge for all use cases flexibly has been appreciated by major telecommunications players, and it counts AT&T, Vodafone, 3 and Verizon among its many enterprise customers.
MATRIXX has enjoyed 60% year on year growth in recent years and received a large boost in the form of growth equity funding in 2021. This has allowed it to grow its business significantly and it is investing heavily in R&D to help it maintain its lead in the market. It is also hiring additional talent to ensure it is able to keep up with with its projected growth in the months and years to come.
