Company mission

Marquee's mission is to become the ultimate companion to the culture-curious consumer - the destination for listings, bookings, mobile payments, loyalty and social programmes as well as rich content experiences.

Our take

We’re all used to hybrid working now, some in person, some remote. That’s also how we consume our culture, and Marquee TV is offering just that. Marquee TV is building an aggregator brand for the whole sector, a 'Netflix for the arts'. Its platform services are increasingly being used by arts organisations to launch their own collections and direct-to-consumer propositions, including pay per view.

Among Marquee’s offerings are such large-scale classics as the Bolshoi Ballet’s “Coppelia” and “Swan Lake”. Experimental works are equally represented, including avant-garde director Robert Wilson’s multigenre “Adam’s Passion.”  In most cases, Marquee has gained the rights to air existing films, though it plans to increase its commissioning of films by helping to fund and produce them.

With the overall subscription streaming market forecast to reach £100 billion by 2025, and the arts sector only beginning its transition to digital, Marquee TV could be well positioned to ride both waves of growth.
