Our take
The idea of a 'metaverse' has captured the attention of Web3 enthusiasts for several years, yet current tangible examples of such experiences are limited. Many existing games and entertainment platforms do not facilitate community-driven content, social experiences, blockchain-authenticated ownership, or immersion, characteristics that are inseparable from the future success of the metaverse.
Metatheory develops Web3 games, social experiences, interactive content, and community-driven immersive entertainment, ultimately aiming to create content for the futuristic metaverse vision. The company was founded by game developers, artists, engineers, and innovators, who have so far collaborated on the company's first NFT-driven social video game project called DuskBreakers.
Whilst games such as VRChat, Minecraft, and Roblox already present platforms for community-driven interactive entertainment experiences, Metatheory stands out by recognizing the importance that NFTs and immersion will hold in the future of Web3 games. By focussing on developing such experiences in-house with Web3 at the core, the company shows the potential to lead a new wave of immersive entertainment.
