Our take
Whilst AI R&D has mainly been focused on the world of cloud and computer infrastructure, Minitap is expanding the potential of mobile-first AI agents. It’s a research lab and software company creating agents that can swipe, tap and navigate virtualizations of mobile apps.
As of 2024, 60% of all web traffic comes from mobile use, so it makes a lot of sense that AI agents should be primed for the format. Minitap AI is creating agents that can be deployed on mobile for mobile app testing and QA, eCommerce and social media automation and accessibility & compliance analysis.
The infrastructure created by Minitap is the first of its kind and is backed by Google and EWOR, a fellowship and investor that backs start-ups with high-growth potential. As part of the EWOR programme, Minitap will no doubt see future growth in an overlooked area of AI agent development.
