Our take
Drones have long been predicted to transform our lives, with Amazon saying it will use them to deliver goods to buyer’s doors. In spite of this, as Moonrock’s CEO found out, the insurance market for drones is under-developed, offering few options and being user-unfriendly.
London-based Moonrock Drone Insurance is setting out to change this. They offer cover to commercial drone pilots, hobbyists and recreational users.
The company has being building out, launching new drone insurance products in response to growing demand from customers, such as UAV operators in the media and emergency services. Dominating space in a market niche, Moonrock now insures some of the most exciting drone applications out there, including unmanned BVLOS operations assisting in devliering medical supplies.
