To help millions of Americans learn a new trade and create lives they are proud of.
Education has long been centralized around education for K-12, higher education or knowledge-workers. Nana - the Uber of Appliance Repair - runs a free vocational academy to teach trainees how to fix appliances before offering them a spot on its marketplace where they can connect with people needing repairs.
Nana is motivated by offering skill-based education and ultimately work to the 35 million people who are predicted to lose their jobs by 2030 to tech automation. Its marketplace enables access to work with impressive companies partnered with Nana, including GE, Miele, Samsung, Assurant, Cinch and First American Home Warranty. Nana has an eye on the US workforce but also on the environment, recognising that 6 million tons of municipal waste is a result of a dearth of people with the skills to repair electronics.
Nana will utilize Series A funding to address this shortage whilst expanding services, such helping to integrate appliances into homes, filtering into other home services, and positioning itself for exciting growth.
