We have an individual budget to learn things and they were very encouraging when I said I wanted to learn to communicate myself better so now I have a weekly class with an expert teacher. We also have a rotation on feature leading, so we all get to learn about leading a project in the team and collaborate with other teams in the business.

I feel like my manager really cares about me and my progression. In our weekly one-to-ones, he listens to how I'm doing, gives me advice and answers my questions, and he often finds/creates opportunities for me to develop and learn.

I've never worked with such a lovely warm, welcoming and fun team as at Nested. There are super nice and interesting people across the whole company, but the tech team is the coolest of all 😎 Every standup has something to make me laugh, people are very engaged and interesting (both with work and non-work stuff), and when we're in the office we all have lunch together every day.

During my time at Nested, I have started a family. The parental leave policies are good, and my work is flexible enough to let me spend quality time with my family every day. e.g. While working at home I am able to attend mealtimes, cover for my wife when she needs me to, etc. e.g. When in the office I can leave early, have dinner and the nighttime routine with my child and then work a bit after that. As long as I'm getting my work done no one is counting the hours I do, and if I do need to put in more time to get things done I can do that on a schedule that fits me.

We have a variety of different backgrounds here, in particular in the tech team where we represent 8+ nations in a team of (at time of writing) 15. More than that though we sponsor work visas. We hire junior and don't require a degree to work here - having taken on folks straight out of software bootcamps and internships. We've put a lot of effort into making sure when we look for new hires our ads are out there in the hands of global platforms and specialised recruiters based in different continents.

I personally have had 4 promotions in the 4 years I've been at Nested. We have a clear definition of what roles look like, how people in them behave and every three months we review our personal growth and set personal goals. We have a bias to action here, it's one of our values, so I've been fortunate enough to be able to find key initiatives that need doing and get on with them. This is a key value which runs throughout the whole team at Nested on a daily basis. As a whole company, we have weekly meetings where leaders and newbies alike share progress and challenges around the company. This includes stats, tech progress and finances, amongst other things. It's a very transparent and supportive environment which both celebrates achievement and highlights areas for focus. Communication in the team is also very open and honest which makes it a very trustworthy, safe and enjoyable environment in which to work.

Nested has an all-hands meeting every Friday for the whole company, where any and all company metrics are shared openly as well as updates on key initiatives around the business. Cash burn, runway, lead volumes, sales close rates, product successes and failures, we discuss it all. You can ask anonymous questions to the CEO every week too. In product and engineering we share our salary bands, have a defined salary/performance review schedule, and everyone has weekly 1:1s with their manager to discuss anything they'd like. We encourage everyone to spend 1 hour a month writing another team member some constructive feedback so we're always growing too - feedback is a really key part of Nested's culture.

Everyone at Nested is lovely and we have a really tight-knit and sociable group as a result, but my colleagues are all super smart too. Engineers regularly push me to think differently, I'm always learning and the smart insights from across the tech team and the business pushes us to build better products. The people at Nested are usually the main reason people love it here.

There are lots of challenging problems to solve and we want to solve them all as quickly as possible while building products of a really high quality. Work/life balance and the ability to work flexibly is very important to us at Nested, but this isn't a 9-5 job - your colleagues work hard and produce outstanding work and will expect you to too.

This is one of our company values, and its one the company really lives. There's a lot of transparency from board level down, and a clear strategy at the company and team level. We always know what are mid and long term goals are as a business, and we work collaboratively across teams to achieve them. In engineering, we're open and honest in retros and when giving feedback (which we do monthly) - but its always delivered with empathy.

I'm proud that our engineering team is almost 50:50 male/female with lots of parents and lots of different nationalities.
