Our take
When launched via a single reddit post in 2016, Netdata's open source, real-time performance and health monitoring for systems and applications in real time, went viral. Even now it receives half a million downloads per day, giving the company unrivalled exposure in a busy market. Netdata has since added a paid for SaaS version which differs from other offers available, you pay for the seat rather than the amount of infrastructure you are monitoring.
Displaying the results in a user friendly dashboard makes troubleshooting and subsequent fixing easy to target for IT teams. Much simpler and faster with hundreds of metrics available on download, Netdata is aiming to lead the monitoring space. The company is now the third most-starred project in the CNCF landscape after Kubernetes and Elastic.
After impressive funding, the company launched a Kubernetes monitoring service, enabling users to stay on top of their clusters in real time.
