Our take

Nurole is challenging the old headhunting processes that involve secretive searches that throw up safe and predictable names. They have built the Nurole network which blends headhunting, a social network and AI to identify obvious candidates and make more imaginative matches, connecting diverse talented leaders with board-level roles that require their skills, experience and passions, often from unexpected places. This system bypasses the cognitive bias of the intermediary in the initial outreach to prospective candidates and levels the playing field, ensuring equal opportunity and thereby naturally improving the diversity of all candidates.

Nurole has 60,000+ members across more than 100 countries, and has placed over 2,500 people into board roles at companies ranging from multinational listed businesses, to VC-backed scale ups, to charities, government bodies, and everything in between.

There are a few platforms working in the automated job matching space such as Hired and Vettery. However they focus on junior and middle management roles. Nurole focuses on filling global board roles, markets which have historically favoured those who knew the right people and that fit the traditional profile, rather than those most deserving.

Now Nurole's CTO, Gareth has been with the business since founding, having started as the sole developer. He now runs our engineering team of almost 20 people.
