To democratize career opportunities for students everywhere.
PathMatch is a job matching platform targeted specifically at students and recent graduates. Rather than simply matching candidates with graduate job openings based on their degree, PathMatch’s model focuses more on interests, personality, and location preferences.
It’s an astute idea, given that a large proportion of graduates hold degrees which don’t immediately match the most common company requirements. With little to no work experience to show, it becomes increasingly difficult for both graduates to get the right job, and companies to find the right talent.
Another thing that PathMatch does quite nicely is focus on personal development and “hireability”, by offering tools for skills building, career choice orientation, and networking.
It’s still very early days for the startup, which only finalized its first major funding round in summer 2022, but there is plenty of scope for growth. If it gets the balance right between student uptake (who access the platform for free), and paying business customers (who pay to advertise jobs), PathMatch could scale very impressively.
