Our take

Born from the belief that a better understanding of soil is the key to unlocking productivity and efficiency gains in Agriculture, Pattern Ag uses metagenomic analytics that enables farmers to increase yield while optimizing spend on fertility and crop protection inputs. Using intelligence, Pattern Ag offers a platform that can assess what opportunities and threats a field will face in the coming season.

Unlike some competitors, Pattern is developing its technology around practical use cases and the results of this are clear. Pattern’s customers are seeing an increase in profits of up to $50 per acre. Essentially, farmers are taking action based on Pattern’s predictions and are seeing material returns on investments.

With continued investments, Pattern Ag plans to strengthen their connections and visibility with existing soil health initiatives that exist for farmers today. It has goals to scale biological analytics to both the US and international markets, including Brazil, whilst working to improve its current soil health analytics so they are as reliable and relevant as ever before.
