Though it arrived pretty late to the scene, Perform distinguishes itself by taking a more personal approach. It pairs users with certified coaches, who then deliver programs which can be adapted based on data from the likes of Strava and Garmin.

That Techstars are an early financial backer offers an encouraging sign that Perform has spotted a gap in a crowded market. One would imagine however, that its trajectory may depend on getting high-profile coaches on board early, and keeping coaching standards strong as it scales up – something that it’s currently attempting.
