Our take
Pex allows content creators, rights holders and content sharing platforms such as social media to observe and manage how their content is used and shared online, ensuring that copyright is not abused and rights holders are fairly reimbursed.
As copyright infringement pervades the world of online content, the company’s Attribution Engine combats this by catering for asset registry and identification, licensing, dispute resolution, payment and data & reporting. In theory the platform, which is used by a number of the largest rights holders in the world, can be equally accessible to individual creators who don’t have the means or knowledge to police all of their own content.
With a 2023 partnership announced with the American Association of Independent Music, Pex is upscaling at an opportune time. The rise of the digital content creator shows no signs of slowing down, and legislators in the EU and US demand better ways to protect copyrights which are currently easily infringed upon online.
