PillSorted's mission is to blend compassionate care and technology to deliver a truly personal pharmacy service.
PillSorted is following in the footsteps of the hugely popular prescription medicine home delivery giants operating globally. It’s a tried and tested model: customers approve PillSorted as their pharmacy, and PillSorted then process, package, and home-deliver the necessary medication. Users can dodge lengthy pharmacy queues, and benefit from helpful nudges and reminders regarding their medication.
A number of rivals operate in this space such as Hey Pharmacist, Healthera, and Pilltime among the startups, and Lloyds Direct and the NHS themselves among the institutional players. Places with more institutional clout are likely to find it substantially easier to divert repeat customers from physical pharmacies and towards online offerings.
They focus on the idea of a pharmacist as a more holistic patient care provider, thereby appearing to stake out future growth avenues for themselves. It’s possible that their prescription fulfilment service could branch out into other profitable areas once a firm user base has been established.
